Never Browse the Internet or utilize or otherwise utilize your computer logged on with Administrator privileges. Create separate account without Administrator rights on your computer for general use. Only log on with Administrative privileges to install software or make other changes.
Use Anti-Virus software that updates automatically. Scan PC weekly.
Use Anti-Spyware software. Update frequently. Scan PC weekly.
Never open E-mail from unknown sources. Pictures and other E-mail attachments can contain malicious code.
Utilize a personal firewall.
Do not give out personal information solicited via the Internet or E-mail.
